For uniform wear: T = mu x W x (R_o + R_i)/2 x n, where W is axial clamping force, R_o and R_i are outer and inner radii, mu is friction coefficient, n is number of friction surfaces.

What friction material should I select?

Dry: organic (molded) mu=0.3-0.45, sintered metal mu=0.2-0.3. Wet: paper mu=0.1-0.15, bronze mu=0.05-0.1. Higher mu increases capacity but may cause stick-slip vibration.
