How does DAS28-CRP differ from DAS28-ESR?

DAS28-CRP uses CRP instead of ESR. CRP responds faster to inflammation changes, making DAS28-CRP more sensitive to acute treatment response. Cutoff values differ slightly.

Which joints are included in the 28-joint count?

Shoulders, elbows, wrists, MCPs 1-5, PIPs 1-5, and knees bilaterally. Hips and ankles are excluded from the standard 28-joint count.
