How accurate is the ABC/2 formula?

ABC/2 overestimates irregular hematomas by ~10-20% but is clinically validated and widely used for rapid bedside estimation.

What ICH volume predicts death?

Volume >60cc has >90% mortality. Volume >30cc significantly worsens prognosis. Volume <30cc with good GCS may be managed conservatively.

Volume = A × B × C / 2. A=largest hematoma diameter, B=diameter 90° to A on same slice, C=number of CT slices × slice thickness.
