How is rituximab dose calculated?

Rituximab is dosed at 375 mg/m2 based on body surface area for most lymphoma indications. The first infusion must be given slowly (50 mg/hr initial rate) to monitor for infusion reactions.

What premedication is used for rituximab?

Paracetamol 1000 mg and an antihistamine (e.g., cetirizine 10 mg) are given 30 minutes before each infusion. In some protocols, methylprednisolone 100 mg IV is added.

Calculate rituximab dose from BSA. Standard haematology dose: 375 mg/m2 IV weekly x 4 for follicular lymphoma induction; 375 mg/m2 day 1 of each R-CHOP cycle. RA dose: 1000 mg IV x 2 doses 2 weeks apart.
