How does CoM height affect gymnastics difficulty?

Higher CoM at takeoff provides more time for rotations. Handspring vaults with greater table distance require higher CoM projection angles. Each additional somersault requires approximately 0.2-0.3 seconds more aerial time.

What angular momentum is needed for a double back?

A double back somersault requires approximately 40-50 kg-m^2/s of angular momentum. This is achieved through takeoff mechanics (hip snap, arm swing) and body position during flight.
