The D-score counts the 8 highest-value elements in a routine (reduced from 10 in 2006 COP revision), plus composition requirements (CR) worth 0.5 each, plus connection bonuses (CB). Element values range from 0.1 (A) to 0.7 (G).

What is a competitive D-score at elite level?

At the 2024 Olympics, men’s floor D-scores ranged from 5.8-7.0 for finalists. Women’s vault D-scores: 5.4-6.0. Simone Biles specializes in high D-score routines with +0.2 bonus elements created by FIG in her name.

The Execution score (E-score) starts at 10.0 and is reduced by deductions (0.1, 0.3, or 0.5 per fault). The total score is D + E. Unlike the old 10-point system, there is no theoretical ceiling on the D-score.
