What is impermanent loss in DeFi?

Impermanent loss occurs when the price ratio of tokens in an AMM pool changes from when you deposited. Your LP value is less than simply holding both tokens in your wallet.

How do I offset impermanent loss?

Trading fees earned from the pool can offset impermanent loss. High-fee pools (0.3–1%) and stable pairs (USDC/USDT) minimize this risk. The loss becomes 'permanent' only when you withdraw.
