What defines Brugada Type 1 pattern?

Type 1 Brugada shows coved-type ST elevation >=2mm with downsloping ST segment and inverted T-wave in V1-V2. Type 1 is diagnostic; Type 2 shows saddle-back morphology with positive/biphasic T-wave.

When is sodium channel blocker challenge indicated?

Flecainide or procainamide challenge is indicated to convert Type 2 or concealed Brugada to Type 1 when spontaneous Type 1 is absent but clinical suspicion is high (unexplained syncope, family SCD).

Can febrile illness unmask Brugada?

Yes. Fever is a major trigger for Type 1 Brugada ECG appearance and arrhythmia. Patients with known Brugada syndrome should aggressively treat fevers and avoid fever-inducing medications.
